LINES THAT BECAME STORIES
1ST MAY 2026 - 30TH JUNE 2026
TINGGI TINGGI CREATIVE HUB
Lines That Became Stories – A Kendylife 20th Anniversary Exhibition celebrates 20 years of creativity through doodles, comics, and visual storytelling. Held at Tinggi Tinggi Creative Hub in Kota Kinabalu, the exhibition invites visitors to explore Kendylife’s artistic journey, discover playful illustrations, join interactive doodle activities, and participate in creative workshops. Bah! Come and experience a world where simple, random lines grow into stories and be part of a vibrant celebration of art, imagination, and community.
This exhibition explores the creative world of Kendylife by Kendrick Ng, featuring a collection of commercial collaborations, relatable slice-of-life webcomics, playful doodles, and artworks that reflect a 20-year creative journey. Visitors will discover how simple lines grow into stories, ideas, and creative collaborations across different spaces.
The exhibition also features My Little Sulap, an interactive doodle lab where visitors—especially children—can colour, draw, and add their own imagination to pre-doodled artworks, becoming part of the creative process themselves.
In addition, the exhibition showcases collaborations with several featured artists and aims to give back to the community by promoting education through art, encouraging appreciation for creativity, and inspiring creative-expression.
The exhibition also features a series of interactive art activities, workshops, and sharing sessions designed to bring visitors closer to the creative process of doodling, storytelling, and community art.
An informal artist talk where Kendylife shares insights from a 20-year journey as a doodle artist—from early sketchbooks and self-published comics to exhibitions and creative collaborations. The session includes a Q&A for visitors interested in art, storytelling, and creative careers.
A relaxed doodle drawing workshop where participants learn to turn simple shapes and lines into expressive characters and mini stories. Guided by Kendylife, this session encourages creativity in a fun and pressure-free environment.

Lots of creative activities await at My Little Sulap!
Visitors are invited to take part in interactive experiences throughout the exhibition, including contributing drawings, messages, or characters to a collaborative community sculpture by Japson Wong. There’s also the Interactive Doodle Hut, where visitors, especially children, can colour, draw, and add their own imagination to pre-doodled artworks, becoming part of the creative process themselves.
Visitors can also write down their wishes and add them to the wishing wall, creating a space filled with thoughts, dreams, and shared memories.

Visitors can create their own doodles on specially designed Kendylife postcard templates. Participants may keep the postcard or leave it behind for another visitor to discover, creating a fun exchange of drawings, messages, and creativity between strangers.
