Getting started, the #inktober way

Post's featued image.

Hello everyone!

With Inktober starting tomorrow, I thought I’d post a short guide for everyone who is looking forward to join the challenge.

So what is Inktober?

Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month. Initially Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.

Who can do Inktoher?

ANYONE CAN DO INKTOBER, JUST PICK UP A PEN AND START DRAWING.

Rules and Prompts

Inktober rules:
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it*
3) Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2019 (Also add in other hahstag related to your country, theme or group)
4) Repeat

Inktober Prompts

Besides the official inktober prompt list, there are other lists which may spark your interest 🙂

Official Hashtags:

#inktober2019 #inktober
Unofficial Hashtags but can be used:
#inktoberCAL (For all Cosplay Artistses Lounge) #inktoberMalaysia or any hashtags which you can reach out to more audience

As for me I will be adding #sakuraMY and #SakuraColorMalaysia as I will be using their pens for this year’s Inktober challenge! (Thank you Sakura Malaysia !)

Here are some ideas which you can try to make your Inktober fun:

Reminder for you all that Inktober is just a framework to get yourself to draw better and have some fun with your art. It’s not a contest to see who the best artist is. It’s a challenge to see how much you can improve your art in a month, and to be inspired or to help inspire other artists to do the same.⁣
⁣
If at any point the challenge gets too overwhelming and you aren’t having fun, pause for a day or two. Catch your breath, and just pick up where you left off.⁣

I hope these small tips can help you along the way. Like what Jake Parker said a few days back: ⁣ “BE NICE, HAVE FUN!”

I hope that I am on stage monitoring the stage XD

AARRDS was officially launched by Ms Aireen Omar, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Berhad in Kuala Lumpur today together with Mr Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW RTW (Photosa below):

When It comes to Penang I always taught of food and holiday. But this year the reason I went to Penang is somewhat different – business/ blogger trip!

And this is my first ever blogger roadtrip to Penang till date! The main reason we are going to Penang is we are on a business trip where I need to attend the Malaysia Website Awards and my partner Chris to attend the M Music Festival which falls on the same day! Work Hard, Play Hard!

Firstly, meet the forever young & beautiful Kelly from sunshinekelly.com & Reia from reiayunan.com!

 penangtrip1

Last but not least my partner Christopher from Spinzer.us!

chris

Our first stop is stopping at Bidor for lunch. Bidor was located between Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur via the North-South Expressway. The most famous food undoubtedly will be the duck-thigh-noodle available at one of the eatery that is the famous Pun Chun! The food was delicious!

After the awesome lunch we continue our journey north. All thanks Chris for driving us up 🙂 And here I am!

Hello everyone! How was Chinese New Year? Hope the year of Monkey is treating you well with lots of wealth!

So today I wanted to share a gathering which I wanted to be part of a few years back but I can’t due to my full time job. So this year I managed to attended Seeties first ever gathering for 2016!

I always loved Thai food and finally I can indulge Thai food this year all thanks to Sen of Thai!

I am the first one to arrive so I took a few photos~

The interior is really interesting, I taught It was a coffee shop!

And here is the menu, totally resembles the coffee shops concept which you can find at the Klang Valley

I met lots of new bloggers (I am a comic blogger and I receive media kit firsthand so I rarely went out unless being invited) and finally the Seeties staff.

After around 20 mins of networking and chit chat, finally the food has arrived!! Weee!

Lots of choices! Thai style!

I present this awesome dish “Thai Baked Mussels in claypot with basil leaves”
This is one of my favorite “Steamed prawn topped with lime chili sauce”!

Not to forget this special dish “Deep-fried siakap with signature Thai chili sauce”
And finally this dish caught my eye which is the “Stir-fried broccoli with scallops”
So what’s else on the table? So I have listed the rest of the dishes below:
1. Yam Spring rolls (Po Piah Tod)
2. Classic Pad Thai ( Stir Fried thai noodle)
3. Cranberry Pineapple fried rice
4. Royal Thai Loop Chop (Colorful candy)
5. Sago Honeydew
6. Tab Tim Krob ( Thai Red Ruby)
7. Crab Spring Rolls
8. Tom Yam Goong (Creamy tomyam with prawn)
9. Sizzling beef with black pepper sauce (Nuea Phad Prik Thai Dam )

Honestly the food is awesome and magnificent, I recommend to come in groups so you can fully enjoy the uniqueness of Thai food here! Last but not least, here is the group photo!

Tadaaaa! Wefie mode!

It was a great experience and I am glad to be able to meet everyone and enjoy the delicious Thai food at Sen of Thai! If you wish to visit the restaurant, I have included the contact information below!

Recently I read a book which I don’t mind sharing it with everyone! Although the book costing planning is listed in SGD (Singapore Dollar) but I believe many people would benefit from this book as well! What’s more? I am actually implementing his methods as well!

The book is “Raising Financially Savvy Kids“, written by the renowned author Ernest Tan.

Front:
Back: IMG_6488

In this book, you can find out almost everything you need to know about inculcating positive money habits and attitudes to help children become future money masters. You will find a step-by-step guide to help you support your children in allocating their money across spending, saving, and sharing (Also known as the three Big ‘S’).

IMG_6486

My review on this book: This book has amazing information that you can teach or train your kids. Besides that it is also useful to manage your own spending as well! As for me, hopefully I can learn more from this book 🙂

You can grab a copy of “Raising Financially Savvy Kids” at all major bookstores such as MPH, Popular, Kinokuniya and Times. Besides Singapore, the book is also available in Malaysia! Yeahh!

Printcious, making your gift personalized [Review]

A personalized gift can be really awesome especially when you are making it for your family, girlfriend, or your best friends.

Wanted to print something memorable in ceramic tiles but who don’t know who would print it for you?

There are a lot of things that can be customize in today’s market. We have many international sites such as society6 and many more but I am currently looking for a localized site where you can personally create mugs, T-shirt, pillow case with anything you like on it, etc.

While looking for local printing sites, I heard of Printcious earlier and I immediately go check it.

Printcious.com’s tagline is “Precious Gifts from Your Heart”.
After seeing this website I immediately register myself!
Creating an account in  Printicious.com is pretty easy! You just need to fill in some simple information or login via Facebook and you are done!
There is a lot of T-shirt designs you can choose from, which is really helpful for people who is a beginner.
Besides T-shirts, you have also other products such as ceramic tiles, which caught my attention.

This is something which I am interested in as well. If you don’t know what or how to give a present to your GF/BF, this link is helpful to assist you in choosing 😉
Now I try to customize (personalize) a pillow which I am attracted to. So what is a customize gift? Well to me it is a gift where you can fully customize yourself like inserting photos, designs, logos etc into your products, thus make it very personal and special 🙂
Since I am interested in the basic cushion, so I am going to try it out 😀
The menu is easy to understand.

The good part of this is , you can even choose your own colours of your choice! Which is convenient!
You can customize many things , including the font type, font size, its arrangement and colour. You can even insert more than 1 photos or images into it! If you done something wrong, you can just undo to your previous settings.
If you wish to start from scratch you can just click on the “revert” button
By the end, you can just press add to cart and review all your orders before checkout*
*Delivery charges incur for purchases below RM75.
And yes there is no GST incurred!

So sum it all, the shopping experience and the layout is clear and easy to understand. The selection option makes customizing process easier and it is really conformable while ordering the stuffs you like.

As an artist, if I were to suggest something, maybe Printcious might be interested to invite local artists to provide some works or open a special market (Something similar like Society6) so they can work together as a special e-commerce site for artists and Printcious.

And if that really happens, it would be great!  😀

And that’s all for my review!

For those who is interested, I would advise to check out their website below:
